<p>I started noticing that restaurants (food/drink) businesses struggle with their creativity. I don&#8217;t want to log on to Facebook and see a company I frequent at always talk about their specials of the day or what they sell. The more they open up and think outside of the box (<a href="https://www.facebook.com/OldSpice?group_id=0" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/page.php?id=141462864068&amp;extragetparams=%7B%22group_id%22%3A0%7D">Old Spice</a> commercials) the bigger their reach would be.</p>
<p>For example: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pepsi?group_id=0" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/page.php?id=56381779049&amp;extragetparams=%7B%22group_id%22%3A0%7D">Pepsi</a> does a good job about their customers sending images or creative marketing&#8230;.whereas another company would be labeling each post with a sales pitch. I told the franchise owner at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/cfasouthlands?group_id=0" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/page.php?id=126960847361549&amp;extragetparams=%7B%22group_id%22%3A0%7D">Chick-fil-A at Southlands</a> to really build off their Cow mascot more and use that to entertain the social media side and post less &#8220;this is what we are selling and this is the price&#8221; (BORING) this is working out well for him as I have helped him be the #1 Chick-fil-a store in Colorado with Facebook likes.</p>
<p>I just love working with people that are so open to listening to my advice and seeing my advice be successful. I guess that&#8217;s why they call me Digi Jeff.</p>

<p><strong>The pitch:</strong> A trusted name like Beckett buys real estate on every single card manufactured.  They simply add a QR code on every card which is unique to that card version. For example, every Bryce Harper BP1 Bowman 2012 has a unique QR code where collectors could scan with their smartphone. They are taken to Beckett&#8217;s site where that card is shown and comments can be made from other collectors.  Now, this also creates a HUGE marketplace for other collectors to find this specific card and a place to buy from.</p>
<p>I have collected baseball cards since I was a kid with my dad since the early 90s.  Looking back, the only big things that have changed is game memorabilia pieces put in the card and autograph cards. I think it would be great to bring my collection with me (smartphone).  Beckett could also create a collecting app where I scan the cards through the app and it adds to my collection digitally.</p>
<p>Selling on eBay is horrific, you spend more on shipping than the actual card.</p>
<p>Another idea is to use the same technology as a smart card: A smart card have an IC chip which can process the data and all other element that a computer have.</p>

<p>One important piece of keeping an independent music artist alive and known is their content.  Bill Gates first coined the term &#8220;Content is king&#8221; back in 1996 which I believe is a critical piece to success online.  To make your name valuable to your fans you must supply content.  If you&#8217;re a music artist for example, you should be delivering songs, mixtapes, albums, videos to your fans constantly.  I remember back in high school I would search the internet for a reliable site to download all the new Eminem freestyles and new album information.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Building a new website with eCommerce is always a hassle. Which platform do I use?! What do I use to accept payments?! Being a web developer for over 12 years I have got my hands dirty with a lot of them.  They are all a hassle.</p>
<p>What if there was a way to sell items in a fast, convenient way for the buyer and seller? Meet <a href="http://www.ribbon.co" target="_blank">Ribbon</a>.</p>
<p>Ribbon provides a way to sell anything whether it be physical or digital.</p>
<p>Within seconds you can start selling an item.  For example, let&#8217;s say you are an independent music artist and own all the rights to a mixtape or song you want to sell to your fans. Add the item to your Ribbon account and you will be given the Ribbon URL which you can post on Facebook, Twitter, email and your official website.  Sounds pretty easy for the seller right?  It&#8217;s easy for the buyer too.  A buyer will click the Ribbon link and be shown an image, item name and description of what&#8217;s being sold.  They click buy now and just need to enter their email address and credit card info.  After their payment has been approved they will instantly get an email with a download link to the digital content (the mixtape zip file).</p>
<p>I believe Ribbon is a great way for <strong>Photographers</strong> to sell their photo shoots to their clients.  After a photo shoot they zip the photos they want to sell to their client and send a Ribbon URL via email.  The client then purchases the photos and will be sent a link to download them.</p>
<p>Another way Ribbon can be useful is for local leagues or clubs, quickly set up a Ribbon link for members.</p>

<p>I knew I seen this picture before and my first guess was it was the little girl that died in the Aurora movie theater shooting which I live 20 minutes from.  When that event occurred I paid attention to all the news coming through so I knew I seen that picture before.  I was right, it was a picture of Veronica Sullivan.</p>

<p>Twitter account  <strong>@Pray_Newtown</strong> made a fake image of Veronica Sullivan and said her name was Cindy Carter (hardly any names have even been released yet, fake name?) with a caption of her taking bullets for her baby sister and to RETWEET FOR RESPECT.  What would any person do after seeing an image like that? They would retweet it! This image has over 5,911 retweets and the account has boosted over 140,000 followers in just a few hours.  This was planned and calculated by the account owner, they are trying to boost their twitter following to make profit.  Why else would they have a fake image? This is what I speculate how this scam works, they boost the account up to as many followers as they can then they change the username. When someone changes their username and profile name on Twitter nobody gets alerted.  So if you were one of those 140k followers you wouldn&#8217;t know you are all of a sudden following @someotherusername who is promoting a link which generates money when users click on it.</p>
<p>This is such a scumbag thing to do after a horrific event.</p>

A friend of mine <a href="https://twitter.com/tchae">Tim Chae</a>, CEO of PostRocket, has been heads down on this project for a while and I finally got a look at the product itself &#8230;&#8230;.it&#8217;s sweet!</p>
<p>When you first login you are shown an easy way to switch between all the pages you manage. From there you can add your post like you normally would on Facebook with a link, they recommend you use an image instead of the populated link for more exposure. The really cool feature I noticed is the built in photo filter you can add on each image as an option.</p>
<p>PostRocket&#8217;s algorithm is brilliant because it calculates when to queue a post, this is different for each page based on the prior engagement.  Their algorithm works so well it got music artist Pitbull over the million mark on &#8220;people talking about this&#8221; (which is a combine total of fans interacting by commenting, liking, sharing). <p>I&#8217;m not a huge gamer but when I do play it&#8217;s Madden and Call of Duty for PS3.  I headed over to Gamestop at midnight to start playing right away, might not have been the best idea since I have a business meeting at 7am in the morning.Oh well that&#8217;s why we have Redbull and Rockstar drinks to keep us running. The intro includes Ray Lewis blowing smoke out his mouth in the cold locker room with him getting you pumped up and telling you to leave your mark, had to turn off PS3 and watch it again.  After the second time of watching it I wanted to run through my TV I was so hyped.  It takes a while to get started with the downloading of rosters so make sure to be calm for a few moments before you play your first game.</p>

<div>The game play felt different, I don&#8217;t know if I&#8217;m on the loving it side or hating it side, I only played two games online.  I was a really big fan of Madden 12 I think it was the best Madden out but I find myself saying that every year on the new one.  There was something about the graphics that threw me off, I noticed the fans in the stands have little to no detail.  Closeups of the players look exceptionally good as always but when you look at the fans it will give you a fake feeling.  I think they might of done this to concentrate fully on what counts, the players and close ups.  Maybe it&#8217;s just me puzzled with this feeling.  The tackling and breaking tackles seem more animated than Madden 12 which I really like.</div>

<div>I think being able to share on social media was a great move by EA Sports. I&#8217;m a social media ninja so I really enjoy features like this.  I won&#8217;t be sharing every game but some of the good ones will be good gaining street cred playing with my Denver Broncos <img src='http://www.digijeff.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> . Hopefully you won&#8217;t have that one facebook friend that shares every single game and it forces you to hide them.  Will be interesting to see how this plays on Facebook and Twitter. Curious to hear feedback on this.</div>

<div>Whatever you do check your receipt (if you purchased at Gamestop) because there is codes on it to unlock certain things.  I unlocked exclusive Barry Sanders &amp; John Madden Legends Pack. I also had a code for the sweet limited edition EA Sports New Era hat for FREE, all I have to pay is the shipping, inner winner chicken dinner!</div>

<div>EA Sports always does a great job with newer versions, I usually top off at 200-300 games before the next one comes out so if you don&#8217;t mind I got some games to play.</div>

<p>I have been staying real busy with my new company I started <a href="http://www.returnmore.com">ReturnMore</a>.  I am trying to brand ReturnMore to do a multiple of things, right now I built a service called ReturnMore Offers where a business can offer deals and customers can unlock and redeem those deals on their smartphone or tablet.</p>
<p>One thing I have noticed while talking with several business owners is the lack of the way to go viral.  I met the owner of Toni &amp; Joe&#8217;s Pizzeria in Pueblo, Colorado he mentioned he bought a pink gorilla suit and thought about using it once in a while to promote his Pizzeria shops on a busy intersection. After working closely with <a href="http://www.returnmore.com/b/cfasouthlands" target="_blank">Chick-fil-A Southlands</a> and launching ReturnMore, I immediately took notice of their mascot Cow.  The Chick-fil-A Cow is their &#8220;it&#8221; factor, it&#8217;s fun, kids love it and even adults don&#8217;t mind walking up to it and snapping a picture.  When Toni &amp; Joe&#8217;s Pizzeria told me about this pink gorilla suit I immediately thought of the Chick-fil-A Cow and how huge that would be for him to promote his stores.</p>
<p>I took  several pictures of the pink gorilla so I could later post on their Facebook for them to generate more engagement.  There is only so many times a company can post about the same thing (i.e. Hey come try our pizza) before the audience is annoyed and eventually hides or unlikes them.  My goal with ReturnMore is to build quality engagement on Facebook for each client.</p>
<p>Within 10 minutes of shooting some pictures of the pink gorilla a car drove by and yelled out &#8220;I love your pink suit.&#8221;  Once this pink gorilla starts getting branded more and more on their Facebook I anticipate higher engagement from their users.</p>

<p>I recommended the Chick-fil-A Southlands location to make a twist on their next post.  I recommended them to have the cow look like he is baking some cookies.  The concept of the picture is to bring some fun to what they post as well as promote their cookies with a simple caption &#8220;We caught our cow baking cookies tonight at Chick-fil-A. Did you know we bake our new cookies and serve them warm?&#8221;.  After they posted, this made their engagement for the picture the highest.  The Chick-fil-A Cow is definitely the it factor for them.  Instead of posting a picture of dessert, have the cow interact with the promotion.</p>
<p>The Chick-fil-A Southlands location has went from 200 Facebook Likes to 950 in just two months!</p>
<p>I have a lot of exciting things that I am working on that I will share soon.</p>
